Are we there yet, are we there yet?

The hotel wanted everyone to know what day it is, Monday, January 2nd!

They told me we were going to see elephants on this trip but I didn't know I would see a pink elephant! And Toni thought it would be a good idea if I sat on the end of its trunk. If it would of sneezed, I might have got to Florida before Toni and Rob!

But these elephants were as big as real elephants.

I tried to catch a ride on a rocket to go around the world faster than Toni and Rob.

Goodbye South Carolina, Hello Georgia (State 5)

Again, a reminder of home (St. Marys County). Right after the town of St. Mary's, there was St. Mary's road. I have seen that there are a lot of places named the same.

And quickly we were in a sixth state, Florida

At the reststop, they also had a painted dolphin. It had a keyboard and trumpet painted on her.  Then we had desert from last night as a late morning snack!!

Florida native plants and agriculture is very important to the state and they want to  protect it. Over 100 years ago, a plant disease (Citrus Canker) was brought into the state that took years to remove. Now they inspect all vehicles carrying agricultural, horticultural or livestock products on all 23 paved highways coming into the state.

They call it the Sunshine State but there was a lot of fog again today.  I couldn't even see the top of the bridge.

Until we got to the top, I couldn't see the big towers and large wires that hold the bridge up.

BEACH TIME!!
I got to see the ocean, walk on the beach and collect some shells at Neptune Beach just south of Jacksonville.

Then we stopped at the St. Augustine Lighthouse. Toni has been talking about the moss hanging in the trees and she finally got to stop and see one. She put me in the tree and then told me that Aunt Jeannie always says don't touch the moss because it has bugs in it.  Thanks Toni, now you tell me.

I had to point out where the lighthouse was to Rob and then took him to the sign.

And they had a park where I climbed a tree and got on the swing.

I learned that a coconut tree is a type of palm tree, but not all palm trees are coconut trees.

Takeout from Olive Garden for supper.

Things are really fancy here, there was chocolate on the pillow when I went to bed.

We will see what tomorrow brings.
