Jan 25, Kauai, Hawaii

Overnight we had traveled from Honolulu to Kauai

The sun was just coming up behind us when I got up.

We neared the port, we passed the lighthouse.  And then we could see a golf course with people already playing. A Tug boat came out and helped us turn and dock.

Today, we headed to a beach just a short walk from our ship.

The waves almost got me a few times.

The had a wall of volcanic rock

I really had fun playing in the sand and water.

There was a Restaurant right on the beach so we had a picnic

The sand didn't stay on the beach and really stuck to our water shoes.

We had a lot of fun into the afternoon but finally walked back to the ship. There were a lot of sailboats near us.  We saw the tug boat comeback so knew it was getting close to our departure.

Hawaii was the 50th and last state to join the United States.  It will also be the last state we are in until Florida at the end of April!

Dinner was a hopping good time but none of us got the frog legs to eat.

Shrimp Cocktail and Fruit Kabobs for an appetizer. Everyone got the Steak for the main course.

And just like the beautiful sunrise this morning, it was a beautiful sunset.

But the night wasn't over. There was an Aloha party on the pool deck.

An easy and fun day at the USA's 50th state. 5 days at Sea to get us to Tahiti. We are currently at around 20 degrees north of the equator and Tahiti is around 17 degrees south of the equator. So we will be passing the equator in a few days for the first time.
