Feb 10, Auckland, New Zealand

Today we stopped in New Zealand's biggest city with 1.5 million People.

We watched the Port Pilot's ship come up to us as we were enjoying our breakfast on the balcony.

Just after we docked, our sister ship the Coral Princess docked. She is on a 14 day cruise out of Sydney, Austrailia.

Welcome to Auckland

On the Bus

Heading out on our tour. Bus and Police car went by.

Getting into the country side but they even have a street sign to say the Kindergarten is here.

We made a quick stop for coffee and snacks.  The say that even most New Zealanders haven't seen a Kiwi bird but it was right there in the gift shop!!!

They didn't have those mass produced teabags from the store and Toni said it was strong!

They had some old tractors in their playground

I got to slide down the sliding board and look like a farmer

Then we were back on the bus and on our way to the Maukatia Takapu (Gannet) Refuge

A beautiful overlook on both directions from the overlook

There were thousands of gannets

There were a lot of feathers

After the gannet refuge, our tour guide/host Elle Armon-Jones, owner of The Vineyard Cottages, took us to her place for a feast.  First we had cheeses and fresh baked breads. Then a meal that included Salmon, Lamb, Potatoes (White and Sweet), and salad

I even got a picture with Elle

One person who was staying in a cottage had a really neat car.

They had a lot of "used" farming equipment in their yard.

When we got back to the city, Elle pointed out a place called Holey Moley. If you have seen the TV show, you might have an idea of the type of putt putt that this would be. It was themed with a lot of TV shows and movies.

One hole had a record player with an Air Supply record. Air Supply was a soft rock duo formed in Melbourne, Australia, in 1975. And this guy was looking for gold on Treasure Island.

Generations cartoon battle: Flintstones versus the Simpsons

Grampy woukld have liked this hole with drums and a guitar that the ball rolled down

I said this was one of those old classics but Rob and Toni didn't think it was old!!

Based on the Game: Operation

They had JENGA that was my size

The Auckland Sky Needle

We left port just as the sailboat races were going on.

On the way to Tauranga
