Jan 30 At Sea

 

Another Sea Day Heading to Tahiti but always lots to do.


Toni went to craft class and decorated some flip flops





And made some flowers with feathers.


After lunch, sat out by the pool.

And then there were some adult activities that I couldn't attend and then a MedEvac from the ship changed a lot of plans as they cleared the top decks.  The Captain changed course to move closer to one of the islands where the helicopter was coming from.  The were able to get the person off the ship and then took them to a hospital


Dinner Time


Rob got the Beef Wellington and Toni Chicken.  Ice Cream and a Chocolate tart for dessert. 

Movie under the stars!

Nice cushions for the lounge chairs. As we waited, they had movie trivia on the screen and the moon directly behind it.



Movie was Uncharted


Finally Rob and Toni got their certificates from the Panama Canal transit.



Tomorrow Tahiti

Jan 27, At sea, day 2 out of Hawaii

Starting the 2nd day at sea out of Hawaii Breakfast Toni made a Flower at craft class.  I went with her. Rob went to the Gym for a stretching class. I'm already flat, not sure I wanted to be stretched out too! Rob was part of the Officers vs Passengers Jenga game. The Jenga game that Dad made for Rob and Toni must have helped as he helped the Passengers beat the Officers. Jenga is pretty hard on the ground but on a rocking ship is really hard. Sometimes we thought it was going to fall without anyone near it. I got to meet Toni's favorite Pizza guy. Toni and Rob played a game trying to get a ping pong ball in cups of water. Dinner time Fresh Asparagus and Coconut Shrimp for appetizers  Veal Scalapini and Chicken for dinner Another great sunset Elton John show in the theater tonight. Tomorrow there will be a line crossing ceremony. The line-crossing ceremony is an initiation rite that commemorates a person's first crossing of the Equator

Feb 25: Torres Strait halfway to Darwin

   We exited the Great Barrier Reef areas and passed through the Torres Strait between Australia and New Guinea on our way to Darwin  In the morning we still had the great colors in the water that we have seen as we past slowly through the Great Barrier Reef. As we moved through the morning, the Captain came on the loudspeakers to give an update on our travels and mentioned that we would see Hammond Rock as we were going through Torres Strait. So everyone was out on the decks to see this as most of us had never heard of it.   Hammond Rock So after we saw it, did a little search. Seems like from a maritime/mapping perspective Hammond Rock and Torres Strait are synonymous.
