Another day at sea before Komodo Island



There are a lot of things to do today! What will I wear???


Craft Class was Komodo Dragon Card but Toni spent the class helping others. She will finish her's in the room.

Rob went to hear a talk on the Aircraft Carriers in the Pacific War


Another goofy golf. You had three chances for a hole in one.  Toni came close as Mayte looked on but didn't get one.




Rob first shot went just left, his second shot went just right, but his third was just right.









Another passenger activity was for people to post a picture with the letter of the day.  Today it was actually both J and K. As we walked down the hall after golf, we went past the Bayou restaurant and there was J.


The two Assistant Cruise Directors asked us what we were doing and we asked them if there was anything that started with a K around. One pointed to her badge. Her name is Kymie!


And then the third thing was Cruise Duck Hunting. There is this thing on Cruise ships where people hid ducks and people try to find them. One of us really, really wanted to find one. The other was thinking there was no way we would be the first to find one that could be anywhere on the ship.

Just down the hall from the golf, the J and the K was the chapel.  And guess what Toni found in there!  It took half the cruise but she found her first duck!






Dinner time.


Toni got the Vol-A-Vent and Ox Tail Soup, Rob the Vegetable Terrine for appetizers
Toni got the Grilled Bone-in Chicken Breast and Rob the Alaskan Salmon


Then a long walk (about 4 or 5 laps around the ship. And got to watch the sun go down.









Tomorrow, Komodo Island!!!!!!!!!!!

Starting the 2nd day at sea out of Hawaii Breakfast Toni made a Flower at craft class.  I went with her. Rob went to the Gym for a stretching class. I'm already flat, not sure I wanted to be stretched out too! Rob was part of the Officers vs Passengers Jenga game. The Jenga game that Dad made for Rob and Toni must have helped as he helped the Passengers beat the Officers. Jenga is pretty hard on the ground but on a rocking ship is really hard. Sometimes we thought it was going to fall without anyone near it. I got to meet Toni's favorite Pizza guy. Toni and Rob played a game trying to get a ping pong ball in cups of water. Dinner time Fresh Asparagus and Coconut Shrimp for appetizers  Veal Scalapini and Chicken for dinner Another great sunset Elton John show in the theater tonight. Tomorrow there will be a line crossing ceremony. The line-crossing ceremony is an initiation rite that commemorates a person's first crossing of the Equator

Feb 25: Torres Strait halfway to Darwin

   We exited the Great Barrier Reef areas and passed through the Torres Strait between Australia and New Guinea on our way to Darwin  In the morning we still had the great colors in the water that we have seen as we past slowly through the Great Barrier Reef. As we moved through the morning, the Captain came on the loudspeakers to give an update on our travels and mentioned that we would see Hammond Rock as we were going through Torres Strait. So everyone was out on the decks to see this as most of us had never heard of it.   Hammond Rock So after we saw it, did a little search. Seems like from a maritime/mapping perspective Hammond Rock and Torres Strait are synonymous.
