Mar 3: At sea after Komodo

 After the big day on Komodo Island yesterday, it was an easy day at sea as we headed into the Java Sea








We knew it would be a good day as we saw a Rainbow in front of us.

This was the last show with this team of singers and dancers. They have been with us since Fort Lauderdale and they will be departing in Singapore. A new team will be coming onboard. But before they leave, one last curtain call. We have got to know these members like others on the Island Princess over these two months and like the change in cruise directors, will be hard getting used to the new singers and dancers.



After the show, we stop by to watch a game show and ended up participating. The game gave a song and then two years to pick from as the year it was released. If you get it right, you stay. Wrong, you sit down. 

We both tried, both made it a few rounds but didn't win.


Another Sea Day tomorrow but then three ports in four days

Starting the 2nd day at sea out of Hawaii Breakfast Toni made a Flower at craft class.  I went with her. Rob went to the Gym for a stretching class. I'm already flat, not sure I wanted to be stretched out too! Rob was part of the Officers vs Passengers Jenga game. The Jenga game that Dad made for Rob and Toni must have helped as he helped the Passengers beat the Officers. Jenga is pretty hard on the ground but on a rocking ship is really hard. Sometimes we thought it was going to fall without anyone near it. I got to meet Toni's favorite Pizza guy. Toni and Rob played a game trying to get a ping pong ball in cups of water. Tomorrow there will be a line crossing ceremony. The line-crossing ceremony is an initiation rite that commemorates a person's first crossing of the Equator

Feb 25: Torres Strait halfway to Darwin

   We exited the Great Barrier Reef areas and passed through the Torres Strait between Australia and New Guinea on our way to Darwin  In the morning we still had the great colors in the water that we have seen as we past slowly through the Great Barrier Reef. As we moved through the morning, the Captain came on the loudspeakers to give an update on our travels and mentioned that we would see Hammond Rock as we were going through Torres Strait. So everyone was out on the decks to see this as most of us had never heard of it.   Hammond Rock So after we saw it, did a little search. Seems like from a maritime/mapping perspective Hammond Rock and Torres Strait are synonymous.
