April 11: Villefranche: Monaco and Monte Carlo

Villefranche, France and excursion to Monaco and Monte Carlo

Had to take a small boat into shore

A view back at our ship and waterfront

Driving to Monoco

Tunnels

The Cathedral of Monaco

Some of the former leaders of Monaco

Princess Grace and Prince Rainer

Grace Patricia Kelly (November 12, 1929 – September 14, 1982) was an American actress who, after starring in several significant films in the early to mid-1950s, became Princess of Monaco by marrying Prince Rainier III in April 1956. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Kelly]

Changing of the Guard at the Palace

Hopefully this thing isn't loaded!

I found Pinocchio!!!

Monte Carlo

And for some reason Grampy just started singing..."We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine..."

The Grand Prix of Monoco

The Monte Carlo Casino (Bond, James Bond) but you had to be 18 to enter so no gambling for me

No pictures were allowed once you entered the casino

They had a fun time and took a souvenir home but what does "Les jeux américains"

"Les jeux américains
Punto-banco, Craps, American Roulette and, of course, Blackjack 21 are all at home in Monte-Carlo, where every square centimeter of the gambling salons is etched with the memory of extraordinary games. These memories continue to inspire all those who, their hearts racing, ascend the stairway of the prestigious Casino." [https://www.monte-carlo.mc/en/tourism/casino-monte-carlo/]

While we couldn't take pictures inside the casino, the parking lot was filled with sites to see too.

The cars

Hmm, thinking this is what Mommy and Daddy get me for my 16th Birthday!!!

Not far from the Casino was the famous Hairpin turn at the Grand Prix

Headed back to to ship

Back on the boat  and a beautiful sunset on a beautiful day
