Jan 16 Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta

We were getting close to port with starts in the sky as the pre-dawn light started to appear.

Plenty of security in the port area where the ship was

Didn't have to figure out what this said, they have it written in both languages.

We saw some familiar places as we walked around the port area.

Lunch was easy in some ways, hard in others/
Easy because everything was 28 Pesos (about $1.50) that was food and drinks.
Hard since the menu was in Spanish, our waitress didn't speak English, and as Rob was using Google Translate to figure out what everything was, his phone ran out of power. But it all worked out

We could see that another cruise ship came in while we were out.  It was even bigger and had water slides. But this ship was two big to fit through the Panama Canal old locks that we went through.

I saw a pirate and his parrot.  And then was this thing on a pole on the sidewalk.  I had to ask what it was.  They said it was a pay phone, you put money in it to call someone. I asked why do you need that when everyone was walking around with a phone.  They said it was something used "back in the day."  I just shrugged.

The wind had picked up and the Mexican flag was blowing.

When we got on the ship, they had animals made out towels on the table. I got to sit with them

Not long after we got on the ship, it departed port and then it wad time for dinner.  It was Italian night.

Both Toni and Rob got the Eggplant parmigiana for the first course. Toni got the Fettuccini Alfredo and Rob got the Veal Scallopini for the main course.

And both got tiramisu for dessert.

After dinner, we went to a 50's/60's music trivia event that was followed by 50's/60's music.

Toni and I got a Ginger Ale.

Rob will post some videos tomorrow but it was fun.

At sea for two days before Los Angeles, California, USA
